Hydro-Probe Aggregate Moisture Probe

Supplier: Allegiant Milling & Processing Solutions

Hydro-Probe Aggregate Moisture Probe

1/2

A tough moisture probe that mounts in or under sand and aggregate bins, or over a belt conveyor, so concrete and asphalt plants can correct batch water for wet sand and stone. Supplied and supported in Australia by Allegiant.

Sand, stone & aggregate bins

Brand: Hydronix

Where it's used

Materials: sand, stone, recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) and other aggregates
Bins: in the bin neck, in the bin side, below the bin gate, angled into narrow-neck bins, or in wide bins with an extension sleeve
Belt conveyors
Vibratory feeders (on application)
Processes: batching/weighing, conveying, water/chemical addition

What it measures

Moisture content of aggregate flowing past the probe, plus material temperature.

Key features

Hard-wearing design for abrasive materials
Shape compacts the material at the sensor face for steadier readings
Digital measurement with a linear output
Adjustable signal filtering via Hydro-Com
Internal temperature compensation
Configure remotely via Hydro-Com, Hydro-View or Hydro-Hub

Specifications

Specification	Value
Supply voltage	15–30 V DC (several sensors can share one supply)
Measurement rate	25 readings per second
Outputs	2 × analogue, RS485 with Modbus, configurable digital inputs/outputs
Accuracy (once calibrated, as published by Hydronix)	0.2% for aggregates, 0.1% in a mixer, 0.5% for other materials
Maximum cable run	100 m (screened 6-pair, 22 AWG / 0.35 mm² cable recommended, e.g. Belden 8306 or Alpha 6373)
