Meyer KI Series Infrared Belt Sorter

Meyer - KI Series Infrared Belt Sorter

Supplier: Allegiant Milling & Processing Solutions

KI Series Infrared Belt Sorter

Infrared belt sorter for walnuts, almonds, macadamias and pistachios that separates shell from kernel, even same-colour pieces, and removes sticks, stones, glass and plastic. Supplied, installed and supported in Australia by Allegiant.

Nuts – shell & kernel separation

What it sorts

Nuts

Walnuts
Almonds
Macadamia nuts
Pistachios

What it removes

Shell and shell fragments, including pieces the same colour as the kernel
Sticks and stones
Glass and plastic

Key features

InGaAs composite infrared – separates on chemical composition rather than colour alone, which is what makes shell/kernel separation possible.
Gentle belt transfer – a smooth, stable drop to reduce breakage of fragile kernels such as walnuts and macadamias.
Anti-shattering design – targeted rejection and a soft-landing design to protect kernels.
Maglev 3.0 ejectors – up to 1,200 ejections per second.
Ultra-HD CCD cameras for fine defect and foreign-object detection.
AI defect recognition – deep-learning software classifies each particle by colour and shape against a library of product models; Meyer states defects down to 1–2 pixels can be picked up.
High-speed imaging – Meyer quotes 50,000 scans per second and detection of objects as small as 0.0025 mm².
Full RGB lighting with an adjustable background colour to improve contrast between good product and defects.
Sniper System – 3D reconstruction locates the centre of a contaminant so the air blast is aimed precisely.
Remote support – remote monitoring, start-up, settings backup and diagnostics.
Simple operator interface, with operator training provided.
